During the first lockdown in 2020, Volup’s founder Álvaro Meyer experienced what many did: cold meals, long delays, and a lack of quality options on existing delivery apps. A conversation with a local restaurant owner confirmed it: great restaurants wanted to deliver, but not at the cost of their reputation. And they struggled to do so without the right setup.
That insight became the spark for Volup: a delivery platform created for those who care about food and for restaurants that refuse to compromise on quality. Eight weeks later, Volup launched in Lisbon with five handpicked restaurants. Today, we continue to grow across Portugal and Spain, always guided by the same belief: that staying in can — and should — be every bit as special as dining out.
